Celebrating My Favourite Time Of The Year

Is there anything more magical than the breathtaking colours and textures of Autumn? Well actually I think there is, an Autumn Sunset!

I have a story to share with you about this location; A week prior to my autumn mini sessions I was left searching for a new spot for the shoot. Mother nature had plans of her own and decided to pour down for days on end leaving my original deciduous trees stripped and bare, and my location unusable.

I spent a solid 5 days searching for the perfect new location, it is surprisingly hard to find accessible autumn trees in NSW, there are very few spots outside of the obvious places such as the Blue Mountains, Centennial Park and Camden . As I approached yet another reserve, this one in Chipping Norton, I was just about to turn around and go home and then I saw it, one large gorgeous tree filled with vibrant leaves. A stunner, she wore a coat of gold, auburn, and ember, with the sun shining ever so perfectly through her marvelous dropping branches. I knew that was it !

When I showed it to my husband he asked whether I was sure it would work (granted compared to the other location which sported rows of smaller autumn trees it looked quite bare) but I knew what magic I could create in this spot, when he saw the images post session straight off my camera he was blown away. It reminded me that not everyone can see the vision, there has to be an element of trust between you and your photographer, there has to be that little bit of faith.

Autumn mini sessions evoke authenticity naturally, for starters it is a divine sensory experience for children, lots of fun and the setting and colours are so gorgeous on the eye. Each family came with the best energy, so much laughter, affection and playfulness, a big thank you to each of them for making my experience just as fun !
